The AMA Victoria Enterprise Agreement covers junior doctors at Victorian public health services. Penalty rates stack across nights, weekends, and public holidays, with separate overtime windows for pre- and post-rostered hours.

The NT DIT Enterprise Agreement 2022–25 covers junior doctors at Royal Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek, and Alice Springs hospitals. It includes remote locality loadings and on-call and recall provisions with high call-back rates at regional facilities.

The SA Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement (SMOEA) covers junior doctors at SA Health hospitals. Overtime is averaged across a four- or six-week cycle rather than week by week, making period-level tracking essential.

The Public Health System Nurses and Midwives Award (MA000034) covers registered nurses, enrolled nurses, and midwives at NSW public hospitals. It includes evening and night shift loadings, weekend penalties, and overtime provisions for shift overruns.

The ANMF (Vic Branch) Enterprise Agreement 2024–28 covers nurses and midwives at Victorian public health services. It includes annual wage increases, shift loadings, weekend penalties, and overtime provisions that differ from the NSW equivalent.

The NSW Ambulance Paramedic Award covers ambulance officers, intensive care paramedics, and flight paramedics. On-call and recall provisions are a central complexity, particularly in rural areas with high call-back rates.

The SCHADS Award (MA000100) covers disability support workers, community workers, and home care employees. It is one of the most complex Modern Awards, with sleepover provisions, broken shift allowances, and travel-between-clients requirements that are frequently missed.

The Fast Food Industry Award (MA000003) covers workers at quick-service restaurants including McDonald’s, KFC, and Hungry Jack’s. Key complexities include evening and late-night penalty windows, junior rate scales (from 40% of the adult rate for under-16s up to 90% for 20-year-olds), and public holiday penalties.

The Hospitality Industry (General) Award (MA000009) covers pubs, restaurants, cafes, and hotels. It includes split shift allowances, evening penalties (7 pm–midnight), and early-morning penalties (midnight–7 am).

The Fitness Industry Award (MA000094) covers gym staff, personal trainers, and group fitness instructors. It includes weekend penalties, a broken shift allowance for instructors working split early-morning and evening classes, and overtime provisions.

The Nurses Award 2020 (MA000034) is the national Modern Award covering registered nurses, enrolled nurses, and nursing assistants in the private, aged care, and community sectors. Public hospital nurses are usually covered by state enterprise agreements instead, which we support separately.

The Health Professionals and Support Services Award (MA000027) covers allied health professionals — physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, radiographers, psychologists — plus medical receptionists, practice managers, and clinical support staff not covered by a nursing or medical award.

The General Retail Industry Award (MA000004) covers workers in supermarkets, department stores, fashion, electronics, and most non-food retail. Key complexities include evening and weekend penalty rates, casual loading stacking, junior rate scales, and early-morning and late-night loadings.

The NHS England Junior Doctor Contract covers foundation doctors, core trainees, and specialty registrars. Enhanced pay is calculated on an annualised anti-social hours percentage, with on-call provisions and rest requirements adding further complexity.
