Saturday and Sunday stack differently by classification
NSW nurses: Saturday 150%, Sunday 175%. Overtime 150% for the first two hours Mon-Sat, 200% after; Sunday overtime 200% for all hours. VIC has its own rules in the 2024-28 ANMF agreement.
Night shift loadings change mid-shift
The 10pm-onward night shift loading means your hourly rate changes part-way through. If the roster shows a single block, pay verification needs to split that block at the boundary.
Public holidays at 250% with substitute-day rules
When a public holiday lands on a rostered day off, you're entitled to a substitute day. Easy to miss when payroll is processing hundreds of rosters.
